The 1968 Chevelle got an all-new distinctly sculpted body with tapered front fenders and a rounded beltline. The car adopted a long-hood/short-deck profile with a high rear-quarter "kick-up". While all 1967 Chevelle models rode a 115-inch (2,900 mm) wheelbase, the 1968 coupes and convertibles now rode a sporty 112-inch (2,800 mm) wheelbase. This would be the base for future Chevelles up thru 1972.

This example is a true Super Sport 396/325 and is a quality specimen. Nothing beats a red Chevelle with those menacing looking black stripes streaking over top of the hood.  When people see them, they know what they are and they know what they do. They tear up the streets.  When starting the car you will notice a very hardy rumble with plenty of lope from a Cam upgrade.  The sound tells the tail of what this car is about. Driving down the street will invite many lookers and headturners wondering where that beautiful sound is coming from.

Under the hood you will notice it is very clean but shows that it's driven on nice days. The engine bay is free of any major rust with the exception of a bolt head or two. You also notice the equipped Power Steering and Factory Air Conditioning.

When you move to the interior, I bet your first question is "If it is a true SS, why doesn't have Bucket Seats"? In 1968, Bucket Seats on a Super Sport was an option and not in the SS package that came with Bucket Seats starting in 1969.  Coming factory with white interior with a bench seat, the interior is very nice with no tears or visible wear on any panels or seats.  An after market gauge cluster monitors the fluids and tempatures and goes well with the combination. This a automatic car which is noticeably engaged from the column.

The exterior body and paint is a high driver quality finish.  The cars panels are very straight and the paint was applied well and has been taken care of. Only a few small blemishes are noticeable once you get close but driving these cars makes this the nature of the beast.  The chrome and trim show extremely well and would be described just like the body and paint were.

This is a very nice car that needs a new owner. These Big Block cars need to be driven and sitting around is sometimes the worse thing for these animals.  Anyone would be proud to cruise around in this car and snap some necks as you scream by. Please come and inspect this vehicle for yourself. If you are in the market for a nice driver, you can't beat this piece of Muscle history.
