This 1967 Ford Fairlane 500 Convertible is waiting to be pampered
and go on a new adventure. This Classic Beauty has a 289 V-8 engine and 3 speed
on column shifter. It has the original engine which has 117,637 miles on it. This
car has not been modified so it is original, down to the hubcaps. After 49 years in the family, the car is in
need of TLC and is ready for a new home.
The pictures show the original carpet and upholstery have signs of
wear and tear. The front bench seat is
in need of repair and the dash is starting to crack. The car had some body work
done to remove rust near the rear window and was spot painted. The car has signs of surface rust and the
paint on the trunk is slightly worn caused by the jack rubbing against the
paint. The trunk has what appears to be
adhesive residue on it. Aside from the
minor body work listed the paint is original.
A trailer hitch was added in the late 1980's. The rag top was replaced and is in excellent
condition. The rear window is glass, not
plastic. The boot and carrying case is
original. The convertible top is
automatic and the switch was reconditioned several years ago. Pictures show the top in various stages of
movement.
The battery was replaced in 2015, in February 2016 completed the
oil change, and replaced the master cylinder and carburetor. In August 2016,
the radiator, its cap and the 2 hoses were replaced. In September 2016, had gas
tank pulled and cleaned out and re-installed with new gas.
It comes with some maintenance records, a maintenance manual and
other items pictured in the trunk. This
car has a clean title and runs great. Cars
are about history so as a private seller I can provide information about this
car that a dealer can't. I am looking
for the right buyer as this car has been a member of our family since new,
almost 50 years. This car has been driven
across the country, carried beauty queens in parades and has brought joy to the
