Description

1973 MCI-8 Bus Conversion – Luxury Edition For Sale in Ravendale, WA 98051

This Conversion Bus is ideal for extended boom-docking, RV Campgrounds, trade shows or a home.

The original owner put $600K into this fully-loaded conversion in 1994.   In 2006 he put in another $100K for a new turbo 8VTIT Diesel engine and refurbished running gear which now has 17K miles on it.

In 2013, I put in $100K tor new exterior paint, graphics, LED running lights plus interior upgrades and refurbishing.  There are three new European-designer ivory ultra-Ieather recliner swivel chairs in tile forward lounge which match the soft tuck-and-roll ceiling covering.  The fully equipped mid-coach, chef-friendly galley has a semi-island Corian double sink and counter.  There is a four-place dining booth.   All table top surfaces are matching Corian with gold edging.  The galley has a dropped oak frame ceiling with translucent crystal panels which gives a bright, cheery atmosphere.  All cabinetry is honey color solid oak with raised panel cabinet doors.  The large walk-through bathroom has a skylight and a full-Size designer crystal glass corner shower stall.  There is a huge six-foot closet and several large dresser drawers, plus a washer/dryer combo.  The aft bedroom has more storage cabinets, so there is a place for everything, making your life easier. Tile walk-around memory foam queen size bed has storage
space underneath. The coach has a basement, two-zone floor ducted central heating and air conditioning unit. In addition to the satellite television, the coach has all of the supporting, self-contained amenities.

WHY I CHOSE THE 1973 BUS CHASSIS

This luxury MCI Bus/RV conversion is based on a 1973 million mile MCI commercial bus chassis.

The manufacturer is "Motor' Coach Industries International Inc." (Mel), located in Schaumberq, Illinois. Unlike all RV manufacturers, MCl has been building these heavy duty aluminum and stainless steel bus chasses for over 50 years. They also have numerous U.S. service centers.  Parts and service manuals are also available for "do it yourself" enthusiasts.

I've had newer motor homes, but chose this 1973 chassis because it does not have engine and running gear computer, which do fail.  This happened on my previous 1995 motor home while in a remote area of Mexico, It took six weeks before the problem was resolved.

The other reason for choosing this 1973 bus is the Detroit Turbo 8VTIT diesel engine, which has been used by commercial trucking for years.  So, diesel mechanics are available everywhere (including Mexico) to do service work. This is extremely important if you intend to live or travel to remote areas - especially south of the border - tor peace of mind.

In 2006, Southern Oregon Diesel installed a long block crate 8VTIT Detroit Diesel engine, which has 17K miles on it.  These engines are designed to run trouble free for 350K miles between overhauls. So you'll enjoy years of worry free travels.

Unfortunately all service and manuals were lost because of my absence. But my sister, who is selling the MCI for me, will deduct $500 from tile purchase price to cover your inspection fees by your own unbiased diesel mechanic, who will confirm that the running gear is in excellent condition. There should be enough funds left over to purchase the parts and service manuals tor MCI Chassis Series 40/MCI8 VIN 10330 from manufacturer: MCl lnc. 01' from coachlnfo.com.

Another reason to purchase this $800K luxury bus/RV conversion for $48K is you'll save thousands of dollars in financing fees if you were to buy a newer motor home with the same amenities (but using inferior particle board cabinets) from manufacturers who frequently go out of business -- and do not have the long standing support that MCI provides.

The following unfinished upgrades need to be completed

The parts all in the storage compartment. We me selling this motor home AS IS.

1. Fabric shades need to be hung over the 5 windows. They call be raised or lowered via a remote handheld controller.

2. The new indirect 24inch long 120VAC natural light LED tubes need to be installed behind the 5 window oak valances.

3. Tile custom roller window shade needs to be installed above tile windshield behind the overhead cabinets.

4. The bathroom vanity sink light needs to be hooked-up to tile J-box behind tile new wall formica covering. To find this J-box opening tap or press the formica on the left side near the top of the light fixture.            Hook up the light fixture.
