1947 Aeronca 11AC Chief This 1947 Aeronca 11AC Chief is a well-maintained and beautifully preserved classic taildragger with an AFTT of 2,175.7 hours and 252.7 on the tach. Powered by a Continental A-65-8F engine, it has 108 hours since prop overhaul and has always been hangared. Covered in Ceconite and boasting a host of recent upgrades, this Chief is ready to fly with confidence. At 1,923 TTAF, it received a new windshield and windows, along with all-new bushings and hardware in the landing gear, wing struts, tail wires and assembly. Additional improvements include new tires and tubes, Maule SFSA tailwheel with compression spring kit, tail spring, new main gear strut springs and packing, and new exhaust stacks. Safety and comfort upgrades feature a new Ameri-King AK-450 ELT, new interior with seat foam, seat belts with shoulder harnesses, and new Slick 4333 magnetos. A fresh annual inspection was completed in May 2025. With a gross weight of 1,250 lbs., an empty weight of 837.5 lbs., a 15-gallon fuel tank, and economical fuel burn of 4.6 gph, this Aeronca Chief offers vintage charm with thoughtful modern updates.
