1992 Toyota Land Cruiser
The time has come to part with my beloved 1992 Land Cruiser. Fixing it up and making it awesome have been a labor of love over the years. It has a 5.3L LS3 Vortex V8 with 4L80E Auto Trans adapted to the factory AWD transfer case. Conversion was done by Landcruisers NW ($25k!). Since the conversion, the heads have been rebuilt and the trans was rebuilt (heavy duty) by Cordrays of Albany. It runs beautifully and sounds great with the Magnaflow exhaust. It has approx. 2x the HP and 1.5x the Torque as the original motor but gets about the same MPGs. There are many other mods and upgrades listed below. Pretty much every system that can be rebuilt has been on this rig. I have a folder with around $50k of receipts going back many years. This is a non-sunroof model so no worries about any leaks there.
-OME 2.5" lift
-5 285/70/17 BFG K02's on nice retro style wheels. Tires have lots of tread left. Spare is new.
-Ironman front winch bumper (just like ARB but 70lbs lighter) with 12k Badlands winch and super bright LED light bar.
-Rocky Road Rock Sliders
-ARB dual swing-out rear bumper with custom jack mount added. Hi-Lift jack included.
-Prinsu full length roof rack.
-Custom dual battery system using Ironman's full isolator/monitor system. 2nd battery is completely isolated from all accessories so you'll never get stranded due to a dead battery. Both batteries are new red-top AGM. They are additionally kept charged when motor is off by a hood-mounted 90w Lensun solar panel system.
-Interior is in excellent original condition. No cracks in dash, clean door panels, headliner and back seat. Front seats replaced with new Corbeau seats that are way more comfy than the originals. Decent stereo and CB radio. Windows have newer motors and switches and outer belt trim. They are still a little slow but faster than many. DFG Off-road rear dual drawer system with integrated fridge slider.
-200w Renogy standalone solar system with 2 100w solar panels mounted between roof rack slats so you can still use the rack for lumber and such without hurting the panels. These feed into a 100AH AGM house battery mounted under the frame and a 1000w inverter in the back. I added this for charging tools and possibly adding a fridge. System works great!
This LC runs and drives great. It fires right up even after sitting for a month. It needs nothing mechanically to start enjoying it from day 1. Everything works on it, including AC and Heat. The only thing it needs is a paint job. Original paint has extensive clear coat peeling. The upside of this is that you can see that the body has no hidden rust or bondo. I decided not to paint it because then I wouldn't want to take it into the woods and risk scratching it. No worries with the current paint!
