Owner’s Notes
“This 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air Sport Coupe is a multiple
trophy-winning Restomod—a true one-of-a-kind street machine that blends
old-school style with modern performance. Purchased from the original owner, a
lady from Jersey City, NJ, this Bel Air underwent a meticulous,
no-expense-spared transformation beginning in 2012. Over 16 months of intense
labor with family and friends—plus fine-tuning through 2019—resulted in the beast
you see today. Over $175,000 has been invested, and it shows in every detail. Powering
this “Heavy Chevy” is a monster 632ci V8 built by Bill Mitchell (BMP) of
Deland, FL, producing 845 hp and 800 lb-ft of torque—plus a 300 hp shot of
Nitrous, pushing total output to a staggering 1,145 horsepower. The drivetrain
is supported by a TCI-built TH400 racing transmission, custom shifter, DERALE
trans cooler, and a Currie 9” rear with Strange axles. The chassis sits on a
custom frame with a HEIDTS 4-link rear, QA1 adjustable coil-overs, Wilwood
4-wheel disc brakes with Hydro Boost, and American Racing Torq Thrust SL wheels
wrapped in Nitto NT555 rubber. The body was stripped to bare metal, nosed and
decked in true ‘50s hot rod fashion, and finished in show-quality Platinum
Silver by Mike Moore of Ringwood, NJ. All chrome and trim were redone, and LED
lighting has been seamlessly integrated into the grille, headlights, mirrors,
and taillights. The interior is just as stunning, featuring custom black
leather rolled & pleated seats, Dakota Digital gauges, IDIDIT tilt wheel,
A/C, a retro switch panel inspired by vintage fighter jets, and even a Nitrous
Express control setup with its own standalone fuel cell. This is not a trailer
queen—it's a solid #2+ condition showpiece that gets driven and enjoyed.
Mechanically sorted with recent maintenance, new tires (summer 2023), resealed
body, and fully functional systems, it starts easily, drives straight, stops on
a dime, and delivers an unmatched driving experience that’s as brutal as it is
refined. Always garaged in a climate-controlled space and maintained
meticulously, this Bel Air is for the serious enthusiast who appreciates
craftsmanship, power, and heritage. It comes with complete documentation, build
notes, and receipts. A true icon, reimagined—with looks that kill and
horsepower to back it up.”
