Owner’s Notes
“This 1956 Chevrolet 3600 ¾ Ton NAPCO 4x4 Pickup is a rare and beautifully restored classic with a rich history. Originally a U.S. Forest Service truck, it features the original NAPCO Power Pak 4x4 system, making it an exceptional find. Purchased in 2017 in rough condition, it had minimal serious rust and has since undergone a meticulous restoration that took over six years and more than $100K in investment. The original 265 c.u. V8 engine was unrepairable and has been replaced with a Chevy 350 small block for improved performance. The Muncie transmission, transfer case, differentials, axles, and leaf springs (9 front, 10 rear) are all original, as are most of the badges. Many hardware components have been replaced with stainless steel for durability and longevity. The truck has a stunning new red oak bed kit with stainless steel strips, a completely rewired electrical system, new headers, and new glass all around, including the side view mirrors. It also features new weather stripping and fender welt, new chrome bumpers and grille, new headlight bezels, five new tires, and powder-coated steel wheels from GK Machine. The interior is clean and well-maintained, and while the heater isn’t currently installed, the complete unit is included and has been sandblasted and painted (though it may need a new core). This truck has been kept as period-correct as possible, with no power steering or disc brakes. The instrument cluster is original, though it could use an update. The paint and bodywork were professionally done by one of Portland's best restoration shops, with over $60K invested in that alone. The truck starts beautifully and sounds great, and it has even won two Best of Show awards this past summer. It has always been kept covered in a heated garage, and a high-quality cover is included, along with a number of extra parts. I am happy to answer any questions and provide receipts, ensuring transparency for any interested buyer. This is a truly special and stunning truck, ready to be enjoyed and admired for years to come! Custom made LED neon light included with sale! $2,000 value. See photo.”
