Owners Description
This 1965 Daimler Majestic Major is a right-hand drive saloon that
spent time in Switzerland before being imported to the US. The power is from a
Turner designed 4.5L V8 ‘Hemi’ paired with a two-speed automatic gearbox, and
the car is finished in beige and black over red leather upholstery. Features
include woodgrain trim, Lucas front driving lamps, fender-mounted side mirrors,
a push-button AM radio, rear seat tray tables, and painted steel wheels. This
Daimler is being offered with a clean Florida title, listing it as a 1966 model
year.
The car has been restored mechanically and has passed DMV
inspection in Switzerland just before being imported to the USA in 2022. Most
mechanical parts have been replaced or restored to pass the Swiss DMV
inspection (most severe in the world). The sun visors are missing, and other
imperfections include cracked wood trim, worn carpets and upholstery, and
stains on the headliner.
A banjo-style steering wheel sits ahead of Smiths instrumentation
that includes a 6k-rpm tachometer, an analog clock, auxiliary displays, and a
speedometer with a 240-km/h overlay. The odometer is inoperable and shows
approximately 18k kilometers (~11k miles). Total mileage is unknown.
These cars are extremely rare. It took me 6 months to register the
car in the US, because it was not in the DMV system. Most likely the only one
in the country.
Car runs and shifts perfectly, lots of power, starting and driving
videos on request. No Oil leaks, no vibrations - great car for the money!
