Owner’s Description
“This 1972 Toyota FJ40
Land Cruiser is an extensively built off-road machine designed for serious
trail performance while maintaining the iconic look of the classic FJ40. With
only 2,400 miles on the build, this Land Cruiser features a highly upgraded drivetrain,
suspension, and protection setup built with quality components throughout. Power comes from a strong 383 Stroker V8 with an RV cam and
750 CFM Quadrajet carburetor, paired with an SM465 10-spline manual
transmission and heavy-duty Luk clutch. The drivetrain is backed by an Orion
twin-stick transfer case with Advance Adapter, providing excellent low-range
capability for crawling and off-road use. The axle setup includes a
rear FJ60 full-float axle, front Birfield axle cut and turned 12 degrees, front
ARB air locker with onboard compressor, rear mechanical locker, and welded bash
plates on both axle housings. Suspension consists of a 4” spring-over setup
using standard FJ55/60 springs. Built to tackle demanding
terrain, this FJ40 rides on Allied RT91 Rock-A-Thon wheels wrapped in massive
40x13.5 Pro Comp Extreme tires. Additional off-road equipment includes a Warn
9,500lb winch with synthetic line, frame-mounted rock sliders, integrated spare
tire and Jerry can mounts, Hi-Lift jack, auxiliary power steering cooler,
oversized aluminum radiator, and a Premier Power Welder alternator. Inside, the roll cage is braced directly to the frame and
fitted with MasterCraft roll cage-mounted bucket seats and harnesses. It also
features a Rugged Radio 357 communication system with headsets, Lawrence Global
GPS, marine-grade power distribution box, removable steering wheel, half doors,
bikini top, and spray-in liner coated tub. Matching VIN tags remain
on the tub and inner fender, adding authenticity to this highly capable custom
build. A well-thought-out FJ40 that’s ready for rock crawling, trail riding, or
adventure use.”
