Owner’s Description
“This 1966 Chevrolet Bel Air Replica has been completed as a comprehensive, ground-up restoration and performance build, showing only 124 miles since completion. The body was extensively renewed with multiple GM and quality replacement panels, including both front fenders, rear trunk panel, trunk lid, right quarter panel, both front wheel wells, right rear outer wheel well, and an aftermarket hood. All exterior sheet metal was carefully aligned, finished, and refinished in a deep black paint with clear coat for a smooth, high-gloss appearance. All exterior trim work was either replaced with N.O.S. GM moldings or professionally restored, while bumpers and vent window frames were re-chromed. Door handles and mirrors were replaced, and all glass is new, completing a crisp, factory-style exterior presentation. The interior has been fully renewed with attention to OEM correctness and quality materials. New seat covers, headliner, carpet, package tray, and armrest bases and pads were installed, while the dash pad was refurbished by Just Dashes. Door panels were supplied by SMS Fabrics in correct OEM-style Bel Air pattern, with restored trim throughout. The gauge cluster bezel was re-chromed and the cluster itself refurbished, including a rebuilt 6500 RPM tachometer. The AM/FM radio was restored, along with an OEM-style shifter assembly, boot, ring, and steering wheel, all refurbished or replaced to maintain an authentic period-correct appearance. Mechanically, the car has been significantly upgraded and rebuilt for reliable performance. Power comes from an LS-based 454 big block short block featuring a Howard retrofit roller cam and lifters, Canfield aluminum heads, roller rockers, MSD ignition, GM intake, and a Holley 850 CFM vacuum secondary carburetor. OEM-style valve covers and air cleaner retain a classic look, supported by deep-groove pulleys with correct idler setup. The electrical system has been fully renewed with new wiring harnesses and voltage regulator. Drivetrain and chassis components have been thoroughly modernized and strengthened. A new Tremec 5-speed manual transmission is paired with a new flywheel, clutch, and pressure plate. The rear end features a 12-bolt posi unit with 4.10 gears for strong acceleration. Braking is handled by a GM front disc and rear drum setup with all new components, a refurbished and plated brake booster, and new brake lines throughout. The frame has been replaced and all suspension components, including boxed rear lower control arms and a new front sway bar, have been powder coated along with the radiator core support. Additional updates include a refurbished wiper motor, new radiator and heater core, replaced emergency brake assembly and cables, and a custom OEM-style 3-inch exhaust system with ceramic-coated 2 1/8-inch headers and factory-style hangers. Finishing touches include replaced decals and emblems, a cowl body tag matched to body and interior specifications, and steel wheels fitted with GM OEM dog dish caps, preserving a classic muscle-era appearance while incorporating extensive mechanical and structural upgrades throughout.”
