Owner’s Description

This 1963 Ford Falcon Futura Convertible has undergone an extensive restoration and custom build, finished in a striking Peacock Blue paint job featuring seven coats of single-stage polyurethane. The body was media blasted, epoxy primed, and repaired, with re-chromed bumpers and fender spears, a new grille, matching fender skirts, and a new convertible top with window. The power-operated convertible top has a serviced hydraulic pump and is fully operational. Under the hood is a 1967 289 cubic-inch V8 bored 0.040 inches over, featuring 1965 cylinder heads with hardened exhaust seats, a mild cam, Edelbrock aluminum intake, rebuilt four-barrel carburetor, HEI distributor, and dual exhaust system. Additional upgrades include an aluminum radiator, alternator, electronic voltage regulator, and new oil, fuel, and water pumps. Power is delivered through a rebuilt Tremec five-speed manual overdrive transmission with a new clutch and hydraulic components. The drivetrain is complemented by an 8-inch rear end with a 3.25:1 gear ratio, upgraded five-lug suspension, 11-inch front disc brakes, rear drum brakes, and electric-assist steering with a manual fail-safe mode. The interior features a combination of Palomino trim, tan vinyl, leather seats, matching carpeting, and an aftermarket center console. Additional upgrades include a new wiring harness with a modern fuse panel, updated gauges, GPS speedometer, aftermarket radio and speakers, and trailer wiring. The car rides on 14-inch steel wheels with 185/60R14 tires and is geared for comfortable cruising, traveling approximately 65 mph at 2,000 RPM in fifth gear. With approximately 1,000 miles since the rebuilt engine and transmission were installed, this Falcon combines classic convertible styling with extensive mechanical, electrical, and comfort upgrades.
