1965 Ford Mustang for Sale in Opelika, AL 36801

This 1965 Ford Mustang is powered by a V8 engine paired with an Automatic Transmission. This Ford Mustang is Shown in a White Exterior with a Blue Interior.

This is a 1965 (the previous owner said it is a 64.5 Mustang but I can't verify). Vin #5R07T253849. Made in San Jose, CA Ford facility, Matching number motor inline 6 cylinder (120 horsepower rated) with single barrel carb.

What Has Been Done

New primer, base coat, clear coat x2 - very nice paint job (no runs, professionally done at my shop, FlexBilt Customs - you can look at us and look at our work)

New tires

New carpet, dash, and glove box (all from CJ Pony Parts)

New seats professionally upholstered

New rear pad behind rear seats

New front-end suspension and shocks (new ball joints, tie-rod ends, sway bar links, etc.

New brakes - front & rear including wheel cylinders, hardware, drums, and shoes

New complete Tune-up (dist cap, rotor, points, condenser, plugs, wires)

Engine flushed and new oil change

Original hubcaps

Original spare tire

New lights all the way around

New Ford Mustang badges all the way around including new F O R D on hood (hard to find)

Original bumpers

NO RUST anywhere on car (rare!)

What still needs work - engine bay and firewall needs to be dressed up and painted - we left it alone in case new owner wants to drop an 8 cylinder in (would make this Mustang double in price with the interior and exterior work that has been done. Original inline-6 cylinder runs fine but with an Inline-6, there is no 'get up and go' but will make a great cruising Sunday driver! Engine is strong but transmission is not and will most likely need rebuilding within the next few year. Mustang needs new DS side view mirror - hard to find and I quit looking. Sure you can find one on eBay or another outlet but during the build (Pandemic time), we could not find one. CJ Pony Parts online carries them. I would put a disc brake conversion on Mustang (front only) before dropping a V8 in the car. Currently, all original drums.

3 STAGE Off-White PAINT JOB ROCKS!

All glass - original - in great shape - no cracks or major dings

Aftermarket stereo but not great by any means - speakers are in the car but not hooked up - again, assuming new owner will want to put original AM radio or newer stereo of their choice. New 6x9 speakers in rear with new rear window pad (from CJ Pony Parts)
