Owner’s Notes

“This 1961 Austin-Healey Sprite Convertible is a beautifully preserved example of one of Britain’s most iconic lightweight sports cars. Powered by its original 948cc A-Series overhead-valve inline-4 engine mated to a 4-speed manual gearbox, this Sprite delivers the pure, engaging driving experience that made these cars famous. With 43 horsepower pushing a featherweight body, the car feels lively, responsive, and full of classic charm.

Finished in an eye-catching Cherry Sprite exterior over a cream interior, the car features its signature vinyl upholstery, period-correct trim, and the unmistakable “Frog Eye” headlights that define the first-generation Sprite. This model is especially loved for its one-piece front-tilting bonnet, simple mechanical design, and classic British roadster proportions.

This Sprite has been well-maintained, garage-kept, and remains smoke-free. The engine runs smoothly, the gearbox shifts cleanly, and the car retains the essential simplicity that makes these early Sprites easy to own, service, and enjoy. Its compact size, lightweight construction, and direct steering make it a rewarding weekend cruiser and a favorite at local shows.

Overall, this 1961 Austin-Healey Sprite offers a wonderful blend of originality, drivability, and timeless styling—an ideal choice for British car enthusiasts or collectors looking for an approachable and iconic classic roadster.”
