Owner’s Description

“This 1967 Ford Thunderbird has been extensively rebuilt and thoughtfully upgraded, making it a dependable, enjoyable driver that you can confidently take anywhere. The 390 V8 engine was professionally rebuilt in 2026 and bored .060 over with GT heads, 2.09 valves, an Edelbrock intake, Stage 1 cam, ceramic-coated headers, and has approximately 3,000 miles since completion. The rebuilt C6 automatic transmission features a 3,000-stall converter, and the rear end has been upgraded with a custom-built 3.55 positraction differential. The engine and transmission perform exceptionally well, and the car delivers strong, reliable power.

Over the last 4,000 miles, the Thunderbird has received extensive mechanical restoration, including a completely rebuilt front suspension with upgraded control arm bushings, new ball joints, tie rod ends, stabilizer links, shocks, and a fully replaced braking system. The driveline has also been refreshed with universal joints and a balanced driveshaft. The cooling and climate control systems have been thoroughly updated with new A/C lines, condenser, heater core, expansion valve, and an R134a conversion, providing cold air conditioning for comfortable cruising.

Additional attention has been given to both reliability and originality. The factory vacuum-operated headlight system has been restored with new vacuum motors, hoses, and switch, while the windshield wiper motor has been rebuilt. All vacuum lines, motor mounts, transmission mount, battery and starter cables, hood hinges, fuel sending unit, and torque-reduction starter have been replaced. A new dual exhaust system with performance mufflers completes the drivetrain upgrades.

Inside, the Thunderbird features custom reclining front seats upholstered in white vinyl, OEM-style lap and shoulder belts, a replacement OEM dash, reconditioned steering wheel and horn assembly, new turn signal switch, and power windows and power locks. The overhead console and Pilot Command Center are fully functional, and all lighting—including the Pilot Command system—works as it should. The dash lighting has been upgraded to LEDs, while the taillights feature plasma LED lighting housed in refinished buckets with excellent lenses. Entertainment is provided by a RetroSound AM/FM stereo with Bluetooth and four-channel audio.

Documentation includes the original build sheet, a Marti Report, and a reproduction window sticker. The car also comes with two complete sets of wheels and tires, along with dozens of spare parts, including headlight vacuum components, extra taillight assemblies, hood hinges, bumper hardware, assorted vacuum switches, and many additional items.

This is not a quarter-million-dollar concours show car—it is an exceptionally well-sorted, well-maintained classic that looks great, drives exceptionally well, and has benefited from significant recent investment. It is a 60-year-old vehicle and is being sold as is, but it is the kind of Thunderbird you can enjoy with confidence on local cruises or long road trips.”
