Information
1928 Ford Model A Roadster Pickup
First built in the 50's, then the last builder found the body in a
scrap yard in the late 60's and proceeded to build the car you see here in the
early 70's. All original Henry Ford steel with the body channeled over a custom
fully boxed frame that is c-notched 6" in the rear. Original 1932 grille
and shell that has been sectioned, filled, and peaked.
Car runs a SBF based 331 stroker with Holley tri-power, Joe Hunt
coil on distributor, mandrel bent 2-1/2" 304 stainless steel exhaust,
early Cal Custom valve covers, power is transferred through a Ford C4
transmission to a Ford 8" rear end.
Traditional front end with dropped axle....original from the 50's,
transverse spring with lever shocks. The original builders’ friend worked at a
chrome shop, so all suspension and axles are nickel plated, all other parts
including the wheels are powder coated black.
Below is a link to an article and video when the car won the Lokar
Driven Award at the Detroit Autorama in 2018. The only difference is the car
now runs a Holley tri-power.

After Autorama and subsequent media coverage, the original
builder, after losing contact with the car, contacted me, we had a long talk
and it was as if he was standing next to the car, according to him, the only
parts bought new at the time were the headlight stanchions, everything else is
custom.
